If so a Project Scientist Summer camp near you can help develop and grow in STEM through an innovative and fun academic camp every year. Project Scientist Summer Academy Camps is a six-week program for young girls ages 4-12 that includes hands on experiments, field trips, interactions from female STEM role models, and tailored learning curriculum by skilled, credentialed educators. Project Scientist has programs in Pasadena, CA, Los Angeles, CA, and Charlotte, North Carolina. Registration is fun and easy. First you go to online to Projectscientist.org. On Project Scientists home page, you will see a link to apply for the summer academy camp for 2016, you click. The link will take you to the three programs you can choose from and locations, Pasadena, Los Angeles, and Charlotte. The Project Scientist Academy summer camp in Pasadena costs $725 a week, and features the California Institute of Technology and learning about robotics and includes The Speed of Light Presentation by JetBlue and is 6 weeks from June 20, to August 5. The Project Scientist Academy summer camp in Los Angeles costs $525 total and includes a special pilot program at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles partnered with CSAVVY from July 25, to July 29 for 5 days. The Project Scientist program in Charlotte, North Carolina costs $390 a week and features nature, animals, bugs, and botany exploration and The Speed of Light presentation by Google Fiber, for 6 weeks from June 20, to August 12.
To register for a Project Scientist summer camp, you click on the apply for the 2016 academy now link and put you name and email in. When you go to your email you click on the link from the email and it sends you to the application page where it gives you the instructions in four easy steps.
Step one you fill in your household address in the tab provided. Step two you fill out you household members tab which you specify who has permission to pick up your child from camp. Step three you fill out the program application tab and specify which of the three Project Scientist Academy Camps you are interested in. The four step is where you apply for one available scholarship. This link also has a fact, questions, and answers file to help answer any questions you might have, as well as the summer 2016 Themes associated with each week, and an info link from Project Scientists Home page for any other information you might need.
Once you have completed your application you will be notified of your acceptance within 5 business days. Once you are accepted into the summer camp you will have two weeks to submit payment in full. The site is quick and easy to use and takes 20 minutes to complete your applications process.
