Happy 4th of July! Looking for a fun holiday science experiment for the kids? Celebrate independence day with a cool experiment that will create fireworks displays in a jar, while also teaching kids about the different densities of liquids.
What you will need:
-1 Jar
-Warm water
-Food coloring
-3 tbsp vegetable oil
Instructions:
1.) Fill the jar 3/4 full with warm water
2.) Put 3 tbsp of vegetable oil in a bowl
3.) Add drops of food coloring into the oil. (Around 10 drops)
4.) Slowly mix it all together, just enough to breaks up food colouring into smaller dots.
5.) Now pour the oil mixture into the warm water in your jar.
6.) Watch as the coloured drops sink down into the water and mix together creating a firework effect.
